Our History

Here we will show you how to explain and advertise the business to different bodies of people.

Social workers & Parents
We started out attending a youth centre at a very young age, eventually after training we were given the opportunity to consult on what projects were available for young people, and then after doing that well we were given the opportunity to design projects, and after that to lead projects before going on to eventually lead the youth centres as a whole. We ran this successfully often generating numbers of 50-75 people per night on 6 different projects. A lot of these people had struggles such as being targeted at a very young age by gangs as well as being victims of abuse such as neglect and others.
Eventually while running the youth centres we started to recognise that while what we did was great. In some capacities we were solving symptoms of the issue instead of the illness itself. Young people needed support at home. After consulting with people more knowledgeable and qualified than us at the time as to how we could do this we eventually learned that we could support them through semi independent support services which is homes we could build for young people to live safely and happily and be supported.
Being blessed enough to learn about these things from a young age gave us the ability to plan our education degrees and future plans around this. Therefore we chose to study degrees that would aid us in the health and social care sector. We studied things such as Social work, child and young people development, Psychology and sociology, among other things such as history and accounting and finance.
While studying we wanted to develop first hand experiences of the business first hand so we therefore found employment as key workers learning about the front end and day to day aspects of the business while building our knowledge and experience and getting mandatory training from various organisations. We quickly developed from key workers to house managers and from house managers to managers again by listening learning and evidencing what we knew in practical and theoretical ways.
From management in other service we decided to work alongside others who had recently established their business in health and social care or was looking to develop one. Working together with them we were able to learn the back end of the business and develop practical understanding and methods of what is required to build and effectively run one. While we managed their service on their behalf gaining management qualifications as well as connections and knowledge.
After operating as management staff and consultants for a number of years we finally had saved up enough money collectively to start our own. In that time we had achieved various degrees, worked as keyworkers, gained mandatory qualifications, did mandatory training, promoted to house managemers, managed services, consulted on businesses then developed services for others before finally making the choice to develop and branch off into our own. To build and run the service we dreamt of running to help young people all those years ago.
We were joined by a social worker who had worked in over 10 local authorise for almost 40 years playing management and consultant roles as well as being a qualified practise educator. A Nurse who was qualified both as a medical professional, as well as mental health and substance misuse, as well as other professionals like teachers and other health and social care professionals.
Later as we grew older but still wanted our organisation to be youth led, we added a group of former young people that were in our service as youth ambassadors and advisers to continue to be the voice of young people and consult us on the current issues and challenges that are facing young people as a whole but also those in our service in order to keep our service current and connected to the ground. These are seperate to our normal key workers.

For Young People
How we started. Well to be honest we started just like you, many of us were in circumstances and situations similar to you and needing a little help and support ourselves. Eventually we grew strong enough to start a businesses of our own supporting people like us and who we used to be. The fact that we were in many of your positions and faced some of the same struggles and pressure you did is what gives us insight and understanding as to why you are the way you are your position, struggle or ambitions.
This is one of the things that makes our service so highly effective and from what the young people and others say about us, “pretty great and very unique”.
We started planning this from around the age of between 16 - 18 give or take a few years older and younger for some of us. At this point we were really just kids going to a youth centre and doing the activities, while outside of that some of us was out there doing whatever else it took to survive in life. Eventually the youth centre we attended we took over and started to run ourselves at times we had over 50 young people attending 5 different projects per night. We Ran and and delivered various projects that supported young people and enabled them to have a little escapism from life and maybe some good food alongside that just to know for that one night at least everyone was fed. The small things that others overlooked such as a good meal was a major thing for others…especially those who didn’t always have it trust me we know.

Eventually we started to realise that though the youth centre were brilliant and having impact it wasn’t always tackling the primary area that young people needed support the most. Meaning we were tackling the symptoms of a problem but not necessarily the cause of it. Home. This is when we decided that we were going to look into how we could support young people better at home which is how we discovered semi independent support.
We then each decided that we would study degrees and shape our careers around building up a business that supported young people at home. We started working alongside our studies to build up our knowledge and experience about the service and background. Eventually we got good enough to help others manage their service, then we started to run their service for them before building our own.
During this time we struggled, having no start up amount, with not much major support outside of each other we had nothing but will, passion and determination, to make it happen. This came with a lot of struggle as we faced what felt like an almost impossible task, so we all worked and put every penny we made from our individual jobs into making it happen ourselves which meant for a while we struggled really bad having to be ducking and diving from enforcers collecting debt we couldn’t afford to pay and having to live on the most basic of food for a very long time. We sacrificed for this service for over 7 years to build it, it took sacrifice, and pain, and passion. Just so we can offer you the very best possible knowing that it may make a difference to your life like it does ours. This is also why investments, business management and development, property and credit is a part of our syllabus for those interested in learning it during key working sessions.
This experience, the struggles and strife and having no real start up but having to build it ourselves made a group of friends become family. A family who owns runs and manages this service on every level and in every area and department who still keep our foot on. We are very protective of our family but we are inviting you to join it.
