Additional Resources
This is a section that covers measures that are in place for emergency situations and for you to be able to easily access support from other members of staff and the management teams. It also covers the additional resources available to you to ensure your job can be carried out a little easier.

Red Alerts
If ever there is an emergency such as a young person needing to attend hospital or a situation that you don't feel can be handled on your own without support on the ground with you then you issue red alert by posting in the group chat or calling a manager.
Safe Havens
This is an emergency security measure that consists of us leaving an envelope at other external trusted addresses on the roads where our units are, with small amounts of cash and all of our basic contact details such as managers number, directors number, website address, social media addresses, that can be called in case a mentor or key worker is ever for some reason locked out of the unit without their phones or belongings and needs information as to how to regain access e.g. getting a key box code.

Key Boxes
The Key box is located at each property and has a set of keys to enter the property. This is a fail safe in incidents where staff may leave the house abruptly and get locked out or if there are emergency situations which occur where entry to the property is needed. This could be if a young person was to run out of the house without warning and staff were unable to go to the office to grab the keys they could safely follow behind and still have access to the property on their return.
When the keys from the safe box are used by any persons whether it be management or staff they are to be returned to the key box immediately to prevent them from being mistakenly left in the house. The code for the key box is changed by maintenance periodically and a new code is given to staff.

Expense Cards
The expenses card is issued to each unit with a certain cash limit that will be topped up fortnightly or monthly depending on the needs of the unit. The amount on the expense card is to be viewed as two separate amounts, one half of the allowance is to be used for thing in the unit such as toiletries or anything needed within the unit for it to run smoothly. The second half of the amount is for weekly allowances for the young people if needed and they do not already receive it straight to their bank accounts from the councils.
Please note that any amount of money that is used from the expense card needs to be logged properly and ALL receipts are to be kept and logged to the finance team. Any weekly allowances handed out are to be logged and sent directly to the finance team so correspondence can take place with the relevant council to be able to claim this back to the business.
If for any reason the expense card is unavailable or having issues, then petty cash can be provided.
Weekly allowances
Each young person will have an amount of weekly allowance agreed upon with the social workers and any parties involved, it is your job to ensure that when this amount is verified, and the young person starts receiving this money that you help them to budget to allow them to go shopping with a selected amount. Alongside this it is advised that you help them to set aside an amount to save each week to help them appreciate the value of money and be able to use this skill later in life when they are working.
Any time weekly allowance is given to a young person a receipt needs to be issued that will be signed by the person handing over the amount as well as being signed by the young person, once this has been done, please forward the evidence to the finance team.
